THE COAST: MENU DESIGN
2023—InDesign, Clip Studio PaintI created this menu for my Typography I class. My goal was to create a clear hierarchy of information that quickly and coherently delivers the menu’s content to the viewer by using contrast, proximity, and color. I aimed to utilize both graphic and typographic elements to develop a cohesive identity.
I started my process by developing a type system that would compliment an ocean theme before creating thumbnails of potential layouts. I added the illustration wave design to the background to bring in a few dynamic elements to an otherwise static composition. For my color palette, I chose a calm blue and desaturated oranges to compliment each other while matching the ocean theme of the restaurant.
